Panamanians and visitors now have a new way of knowing the history and operation of one of the most important architectural wonders in the world, the Panama Canal, because it has already inaugurated the IMAX Canal de Panama, in the Miraflores Locks.

And what better way to open its doors, than with the presentation of the documentary PANAMA CANAL, A Land Divided – A World United, produced by the renowned film producer Gordon Bijelonic.

The actor and Oscar winner, Morgan Freeman, who was present at the opening ceremony of the cinema, was in charge of the narration of this first documentary on the Panama Canal in IMAX 3D format.

The IMAX CANAL DE PANAMA theater has the second largest screen in the world, measuring 15 meters high by 70 wide and with a capacity of 525 seats. This room is in the Top 5 of the largest rooms in the world.

Through the magic of 3D and IMAX cameras, audiences around the world make an amazing journey through one of the seven wonders of the modern world the Panama Canal in 3D.
The documentary not only reveals the vast reach of the Panama Canal, but also its locks, operations and giant vessels that sail through the Canal.
Spectators ply the skies of Panama, explore it in a native canoe and discover the unexpected beauty of the rainforest and wildlife.
The film runs from the days when the conquerors crossed a dense jungle, until the excavation of canals in the 19th century. The achievement of American engineering that revolutionized maritime transport and tropical medicine.
It also presents the present visionary documenting the efforts made by Panama to expand the 100-year-old waterway to accommodate post-panamax ships. It concludes with a fusion of the old and the new of Panama, its skyscrapers, its culture and its growing economy.

Tickets are available at the box office of the IMAX Building at the Miraflores Locks, Panama Canal. The functions are every day from 9:00 a.m. at 4:00 p.m., one function per hour.

El actor y ganador del Oscar, Morgan Freeman, quien estuvo presente en el acto inauguraal de la sala de cine, fue el encargado de la narración de este primer documental sobre el Canal de Panamá en formato IMAX 3D.

El teatro IMAX CANAL DE PANAMÁ tiene la segunda pantalla más grande del mundo, con medida de 15 metros de altura por 70 de ancho y una capacidad de 525 butacas. Esta sala está en el Top 5 de las salas mas grande del mundo.

A través de la magia de las cámaras 3D e IMAX, las audiencias de todo el mundo hacen un viaje alucinante a través de una de las siete maravillas del mundo moderno el Canal de Panamá en 3D.
El documental no solo revela el vasto alcance del Canal de Panamá, sino también sus esclusas, operaciones y gigantes embarcaciones que navegan por el Canal.
Los espectadores surcan los cielos de Panamá, lo exploran en canoa nativa y descubren la inesperada belleza de la selva tropical y la vida silvestre.
La película transcurre desde los días en que los conquistadores atravesaron una densa selva , hasta la excavación de canales en el siglo XIX. El logro de ingeniería estadounidense que revolucionó el transporte marítimo y la medicina tropical.
También presenta el presente visionario que documenta los esfuerzos realizados por Panamá, para expandir la vía acuática de 100 años de antigüedad, para dar cabida a los barcos post-panamax. Concluye con una fusión de lo viejo y lo nuevo de Panamá, sus rascacielos, su cultura y su creciente economía.

Los boletos está disponibles en taquilla del Edificio IMAX en la Esclusas de Miraflores, Canal de Panamá. Las funciones son todos los días de 9:00 a.m. a 4:00 p.m., una función cada hora.
